ALAN HOWE
Screen Printing Consultant with 38 years of industry experience.
I’ve spent over three decades in the screen printing industry helping shops fix the problems that slow them down.
I entered the screen printing industry in 1987, working with Harco Graphic (now Brown Manufacturing). From there, I held technical-sales positions with respected companies like Jay Products, Saati USA, Easiways Systems and Tech Support SPS — experiences that gave me a deep understanding of both equipment and production bottlenecks.
38 years later, I’ve been fortunate to see this industry from nearly every angle from troubleshooting on the shop floor to speaking on stage at major trade shows.
INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT
I was inducted into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technology (ASDPT) in 2018
This organization recognizes individuals who have made significant, long-term contributions to advancing screen and digital printing. Joining the Academy wasn’t just a milestone, it was a reminder that teaching, sharing, and giving back are as important as printing itself.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to speak at trade shows, technical conferences, and industry events across the country, sharing real-world insights on workflow, ink management, screen preparation, and quality control.
I’m also proud to have served as a Screen Print Judge for the SkillsUSA National Competition
where I evaluate students from across the United States as they demonstrate their knowledge and craftsmanship in screen printing.
After decades of working with screen printers of all sizes, from small startups to high-volume operations, I started to notice a pattern.
No matter the shop, location, or equipment, most production problems came down to the same issue: a weak or inconsistent process.
I realized that many printers were spending valuable time fighting symptoms without ever identifying the real cause.
This inspired me to create The Howe Method, a framework built to help printers diagnose, understand, and correct those process breakdowns once and for all.
Today, I use this framework to guide consulting sessions, workshops, and on-site evaluations, helping print shops build repeatable, efficient systems that deliver reliable quality with less stress.
I'm on a mission to make the printing process simple, sustainable, and scalable.
