I just returned from a quick one-day trip to Printing United Expo 2025 in Orlando, Florida. Let’s be clear — you can’t see everything in one day (or even two), but I went with a specific purpose, and the day didn’t disappoint.

Academy Sessions at the Printing United Expo 2025
I was honored to take part in two Academy panels on Wednesday, October 22: “Ask Me Anything” and “The Screen Room Redefined.” These were two of five instructional sessions presented by the Academy, all packed with solid, no-fluff content.
“At the Academy, we don’t sell hype — we share experience.”

Marshall Atkinson moderated both panels I participated in, alongside industry leaders Mark Coudray, Jim Raffel, and Art Dobie. The second panel also included Art Dobie (Micro Screen) and Dave Dennings (Kiwo).
As always, it’s an honor to stand alongside my fellow Academy members. The questions from attendees were sharp and genuine. The best part about the Academy? No smoke and mirrors, just truth, insight, and practical instruction to help shops grow stronger.
Industry Insights & Networking during the Printing United Expo 2025
Beyond teaching, trade shows are about connection — meeting people, sparking ideas, and seeing what’s new.

AI continues to be a big conversation point. I spent time with Davis Slagle (Bee Graphix) and Jay Buselle (FlexPoint) and when it comes to marketing and branding, these guys are pushing the boundaries of how AI can transform communication and creative strategy.
What Caught My Eye at the Printing United Expo 2025
Vastex DTF Shaker – Smart setup for single-sheet applications. A must-see for shops handling individual DTF jobs.
ROQ USA – Still the place to be for screen print and DTF innovation — hybrid printing, automation, and advanced press control systems.
Kiwo – Great discussions on laser exposure technology. The precision and repeatability are game-changing.
UX Apparel Shirts (via RTP & Brian Walker) – Still my pick for the best promo shirt on the market for decorators. Check the link on my resource page — it’s worth it.
Industrial Market Presence – Nice to see renewed focus on flatbed screen printing for industrial applications. M&R;, Lawson, and especially RH Solutions / ATMA had impressive setups.
Big Picture & Final Thoughts
Watching the new ASDPT Academy inductees was inspiring — congratulations to all. It was also a pleasure meeting Daniel Sunderland, President of FESPA. His enthusiasm for education and collaboration with Academy members is contagious. His vision for global partnerships in technical education feels like a powerful step forward.
That evening, it was great to sit down for dinner with Daniel, Marshall Atkinson, Mark Coudray, and several other Academy members to talk shop, share ideas, and discuss the future of industry education. The conversation was genuine and focused on how collaboration, mentorship, and education can move our industry forward.
Trade shows like the Printing United Expo 2025 remind me why this industry still excites me — people who share, innovate, and push the craft forward. That’s the real takeaway.
